Simply go to the mixer and add Edison to the mixer track of your vocal. The next thing we need to do is record the vocal sample. Just remember that the reverb now fades out at the end of this (reversed) sample. It may sound weird, but it will all make sense in a minute. It will flip the waveform horizontally and your sample will now be played in reverse. Go to your vocal sample and select “Reverse” in the Precomputed effects area. Here’s where a simple little trick comes in. This is basically all you need to do for the first step: select your vocal, route it to the mixer and add a good amount of reverb to it.
This will help to give the effect more volume and get balance with the loudness of the vocal. Also, open up the wet level (amount of reverb) quite a lot. A longer decay time will help to create a smoother reverse reverb effect later on. Set it however you want, but make sure the decay time (DEC) is pretty long. The most important effect will be the reverb, because that’s what we need for this lesson. On this mixer track you can now shape your vocal and add effects. Then go to the Sampler and assign your vocal to a free mixer track, like mixer track 1. You can drag and drop it to the playlist if you want. Give your vocal a reverb effectįirst, add your vocal sample that needs a reverse reverb effect to FL Studio.
